How to Make Cotton Candy Sugar
If your cotton candy craving has just kicked in and you want mouth watering colored floss right now, you have come to the right place. We will show you how to make cotton candy sugar in minutes. If you would like to add a little flavoring, by all means! Mix smaller amounts of sugar if you are in an experimental mood. In the spirit of cotton candy, have fun! Lets begin.
What You Will Need
• 1 cup of sugar
• 1 zip lock bag
• Food Coloring
(Flavoring is optional)
Place the cup of sugar in the zip lock bag and added a small amount of Gel coloring. I would recommend using Gel coloring so you do not need to wait for your sugar to dry. Gel coloring can be quite potent so add a small amount to start with.
Depending on the intensity of the color you want, you can always add more coloring to the sugar. If you add a little too much, you can always add a bit more sugar. There are no set measurement so you call the shots.
Once the coloring had been added to the bag, seal the zip lock. Be sure to squeeze as much air as possible out of the bag to making mixing easier.
Work the color into the sugar by mixing and moving the sugar around. Turn the bag over to ensure the coloring is speading evenly through the sugar. You may notice some dark speckles in the sugar mix but just keep on mixing and the colour of the sugar will even out.
The sugar will look evenly colored once you are done. Switch your machine on so the element can heat up. Depending on the size of Cotton Candy Maker you are using, add the colored sugar to the extractor head and enjoy your colored cotton candy.
